Instructor Bio: My yoga journey began when I took my first Hot Hatha yoga class in 2013. I left class happy. After every class I began to feel better and better. Due to old injuries and arthritis in both my knees, I was limited to what physical activity I could do- No enjoyment. After numerous efforts and exhaustive trials I found a place of serenity- I found yoga, or maybe yoga found me. I’m at a place now where practicing yoga is helping manage my chronic headaches from Advanced Degenerate Disease, and yoga is helping relieve the inflammation in my knees. I fell in love. My body fell in love. After many months, I decided I would like the opportunity to know more about yoga, to strengthen others, and teach them the amazing benefits of yoga too. My husband is a Disabled Veteran who lives with chronic pain due to injuries he sustained while serving as a United States Pararescueman. I decided I wanted to learn what I could do to help give him a chance to have some relief too. At the studio where I was practicing Yoga (Yoga Hot Spot) there was to be a 200hr TT!! I signed up. After receiving my 200hr Hatha Yoga Teacher certification I started my first teaching job right away!
Then in June 2015 I fell in Love yet Again! With SUP/SUP Yoga and I embarked on a 4 day Teacher Training class in San Diego, CA with Paddle into Fitness. Owner/ Instructor Gillian Gibree and her passion for paddle boarding/Yoga and teaching filled my cup to the overflow! I then bought my first SUP board and shared the Enthusiasm with my family and friends. My husband Michael retired from his Federal Service job as a Regional Safety Manager in March 2016 and we moved to Colorado from Washington State and started on a new journey. I started teaching with my sweetest dearest friend, Denise at her Yoga studio (Falcon Yoga) in Falcon, Co. And then in June 2016 Yoga on Water was launched! Our Floating SUP/Yoga Studio. Michael’s love of water and my love for Yoga. And our desire to work together and share with others how Yoga and Self-care and Love has helped heal deep wounds. Physical, mental and emotional. Sharing the essence of Mindful Meditation. Finding freedom from within ourselves and connecting with the infinite source of inspiration that arises from within.Being a Yoga Teacher and my personal yoga practice has strengthened me and refined me. Always a work in progress. Life is a journey that brings both rain and sunshine. Life is a garden always needing pruning or weeding. Life is a gift. For me, teaching yoga is a means to be apart of many lives and opportunities to use the gifts given to me to share for the peace, harmony and care for others. Our community.“You will find that if you share your friend’s burden, both of you will walk a little straighter.”
